About Me

……………………………………………..

My name is Amy Skoll and I am the author of Missing the Point: It’s Time to Usher in a New Generation of Christianity. I became an Assistant Professor in the International Strategy and Security Department at the California State University Maritime Academy in Northern California, after completing my PhD in Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations at UC Davis. My research and teaching interests are primarily in global conflict and human security and my dissertation research was primarily focused on external intervention in civil war. I also work part-time at River City Christian Church as the Mom’s Ministry Director! I am a Sacramento native, but attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for my undergrad as well as my M.B.A. program. It was at Cal Poly where I met my now husband, Jonathan. We have been married for almost a decade and are now living in Sacramento with our two handsome boys, Logan and Grayson (with a baby girl on the way)! My greatest joys and passions are working with college students and young adults, sharing the love of Christ, travelling the world, and building a beautiful life with my little family. I am also a coffee and craft beer lover, former Body Pump fitness instructor, avid reader and podcast listener, and a board game/trivia junkie. As a total extravert, I also love spending time with people so feel free to reach out to introduce yourself; I would love to meet you!
