About Me

……………………………………………..

My name is Amy Skoll and I am the author of Missing the Point: It’s Time to Usher in a New Generation of Christianity. I have my PhD in Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations from UC Davis and am an Assistant Professor at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo on the Maritime Campus in Northern California, teaching in the International Strategy and Security major. My research and teaching interests are primarily in civil conflict, international migration, globalization, and maritime foreign policy and I also run our First Year Seminar program and am the Edwards Leadership Development Program (ELDP) Faculty Director on campus. I also serve at our church, River City Christian, as the Mom’s Ministry Director! I am a Sacramento native, but attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for my undergrad as well as my M.B.A. program. It was at Cal Poly where I met my now husband, Jonathan. We have been married for over a decade and are now living in Sacramento with our two handsome boys, Logan and Grayson and our adorable little girl Ruby! My greatest joys and passions are working with college students and young adults, sharing the love of Christ, traveling the world, and building a beautiful life with my little family. I love spending time with people so feel free to reach out to introduce yourself; I would love to meet you!
